Description
Laughter as Medicine is a free workshop exploring the use of humour in helping professions: the idea that humour-informed care belongs alongside trauma-informed care, as a fundamental aspect of healing and a highly effective tool within mental health.
The workshop is part open discussion, part humour-informed presentation. You'll learn more about humour as a healing technology drawing on psychology, philosophy, biology, sociology and more.
We'll also share practical ideas about how humour can be used in different helping and healing environments. Participants are warmly invited to share their experience and thoughts in their field, with their input helping to shape consensus guidelines for humour-informed care.
This is the first workshop in a growing body of work recognising and applying humour as a creative technology across different domains. It might even be funny.
